Firstly in Belarus the guilt of the responsible side (The Bobruysk unitary municipalaffiliate road and transportation enterprise) for violation of unimpeded medium norms has been legally established.
The aggrieved person, here it is a wheelchair user, obtained compensation for moral damage. The direct relation between violator’s actions and wheelchair users’ rights abuse has been ascertained. The Bobruysk City court has answered the claim of Sergey Matskevich, 1-st group disabled, on reparation of damages. The agents of disabled people’s rights Office have been controlling this process and will share details in the closest future. The coordinatorof disabled people’s rights Office Sergey Drozdovskiy gives his comments on this account: “It is of crucial importance for us, that the wheelchair user managed to uphold his rights in court. Moreover, it’s a rare case when a disabled person goes to court. And this situation is unsatisfactory – the unbelief in justice. That’s why we appreciate the results of process and hope sincerely that in future it won’t be a peculiar thing to satisfy a claim of disabled people on restoration of their rights
On the 14-th of August the preliminary hearing on claim of Sergey Matskevich addressed to The Bobruysk unitary municipal affiliate road and transportation enterprise took place. Today, 23-rd of July 2012, the final hearing took place. The claim of Sergey Matskevich was satisfied.
